Story Synopsis:

After running into her oppressive ex-husband – and his new girlfriend – on the streets of Barcelona, Kat decides it’s finally time to step out from under his cloud and embrace life on her terms.

‘You’re in grave danger of becoming a cliché.’ My best friend Lissa gazed at me over the top of her coffee cup. ‘Divorcee, wandering around Europe, seeking the cure for a broken heart.’

She sighed, leaning back on the rickety café chair. ‘Look, I understand why you want to get away from here, after everything that happened with Nick. But why don’t you go somewhere different, some place off the tourist trail? Like Cambodia, or . . . I dunno, Zimbabwe? Not bloody Barcelona. In August of all times! For God’s sake, you’ll come back red as a lobster.’

What location did you choose for your SUNLOUNGER 2 story… I chose Barcelona – the perfect combo of city, sun and sea. It’s the ideal location to embrace life on your own terms.

Have your books featured any exotic destinations? They have! CONSTRUCT A COUPLE features Manhattan, while in THE POLLYANNA PLAN, both the hero and heroine travel to Lopud, an island off the Croatian coast.

If you could live anywhere in the world… I’m living in it! It has to be London, for sure. Although I grew up in Canada and I’ve also lived in the US and Poland, the variety of things to do in London is like anywhere else in the world.

Destination you’ve returned to the most times? I’d love to say somewhere quirky and remote but Paris is the city that draws me to it time and again. It’s a huge cliché but there is something so romantic about the narrow streets in the Marais and the hilltop lanes of Montmartre.

Ticket, passport, money and… Hairspray. Flat hair in any part of the world bums me out.

Favourite cuisine from around the world? I love Egyptian falafel! Cheap, yummy, and filling.

Favourite holiday cocktail? Lime margarita! The more tequila, the better.

What was your best/worst holiday romance? I’ve never had a holiday romance! Boo…
