    A Blood Lily from Moses

    Desination: Kenya, Africa
    Sunlounger Stories 2
    (Buy it!)

    Story Synopsis:

Just-dumped and heartbroken, Emma departs reluctantly for the safari holiday she and Sam had booked together. Little does she realise what Africa has in store for her…

    Sneak peek of story:

She wonders what would happen if she reached out and tucked in the label that pokes from the collar of the person ahead of her in the queue.

A harmless enough gesture, surely – and wouldn’t any woman would want to hide the evidence that her jacket had come from Penneys, not to mention the fact that she needed it in an XL size? Might be different if Yves St Laurent was sticking out – now that kind of wardrobe malfunction might well be deliberate – but Penneys? Hardly.

Tell us about the location you chose for SUNLOUNGER 2 story… I chose Kenya because I lived and worked in Africa for two years in the eighties, and absolutely loved it. The shy charm of the people, the drama of the landscape, the heart-stopping beauty of the sunsets – everything about the place enchanted me (with the possible exception of the house spiders!) Tragically, I haven’t been back since – but after writing A BLOOD LILY FROM MOSES, I’m seriously thinking about making Africa my next holiday destination….

Have your books featured any destinations? PUTTING OUT THE STARS featured San Francisco. My other books are set wholly in Ireland.

If you could live anywhere in the world… Ireland, where I live, because there is quite simply no place like it. I’ve lived in many other places – Africa, USA, Canada, France, Spain, UK – and nowhere comes close.

Destination you’ve returned to the most times? The Canary Islands because I love a bit of winter sun and they’re the most accessible destination from the west of Ireland.

Favourite cuisine from around the world? Italian – adore it. Greek a close second.

Favourite holiday cocktail? All of them! (But if I had to choose, Mojito.)

What was your best holiday romance? A gorgeous man from Guernsey; we met on a tree-planting holiday in Spain. Sadly, our romance didn’t last much longer than the holiday.

And the worst? A Bulgarian lifeguard. He followed me back to the UK – I knew as soon as he walked into the arrivals hall at Heathrow that I’d made a huge mistake. Nightmare.
